Noindex changed by JavaScript

IssueHigh priority

Rendered pages of this site that say noindex in one version and not the other.

Why it matters

A noindex in the HTML sent can stop a page being rendered at all, so a script that removes it may never run; one that adds it hides the page from search once it does.

How to fix it

Decide in the HTML the server sends whether the page should be indexed.

Skitter runs this check on every crawl, and lists each page it finds with the evidence: the header, the tag or the link that gave it away.
