Non-indexable pages in a sitemap
WarningMedium priority
Addresses a sitemap lists that answer but cannot be indexed: noindex, canonicalised elsewhere or blocked.
Why it matters
A sitemap is a list of pages you want found. Listing ones that ask not to be indexed sends search engines mixed signals and wastes their visits.
How to fix it
List only the canonical, indexable version of each page, or make the page indexable if it should be.
Skitter runs this check on every crawl, and lists each page it finds with the evidence: the header, the tag or the link that gave it away.
