Images with empty alt text
WarningLow priority
Images a page of this site shows with an empty alt attribute, which marks them as decoration.
Why it matters
An empty alt is right for decoration and wrong for anything that carries meaning: a screen reader skips the image entirely, and a search engine learns nothing about it.
How to fix it
Check each one. If the image says something the text around it does not, describe it; if it is only decoration, leave it empty.
Skitter runs this check on every crawl, and lists each page it finds with the evidence: the header, the tag or the link that gave it away.
