A folder repeated in the address

WarningMedium priority

Addresses of this site where the same folder name appears twice, such as /shop/socks/shop/.

Why it matters

It usually means a relative link resolved against the wrong base, which quietly doubles the site: the same page answers at two addresses and both get crawled and indexed.

How to fix it

Find the page linking this way — its Links In tab — and write the link from the site root rather than relative to the page.

Skitter runs this check on every crawl, and lists each page it finds with the evidence: the header, the tag or the link that gave it away.
