Redirect loops

IssueHigh priority

Redirects that lead back round to an address already passed, so they never arrive anywhere.

Why it matters

Browsers give up and show an error, and search engines drop the address; anything linking to it leads nowhere.

How to fix it

Find the rule that sends the last address back to an earlier one and point it at the page that should answer.

Skitter runs this check on every crawl, and lists each page it finds with the evidence: the header, the tag or the link that gave it away.
