5xx errors
IssueHigh priority
Resources that answered with a 5xx status.
Why it matters
The server failed to produce the page. If search engines keep seeing this they crawl the site less and may drop the page.
How to fix it
Look in the server's error log for this address. If it only fails under load, crawl more slowly and check again.
Skitter runs this check on every crawl, and lists each page it finds with the evidence: the header, the tag or the link that gave it away.
