Title outside the head

IssueMedium priority

Pages with a title element below the head, where a search engine does not read it.

Why it matters

A title in the body is not a title: if the head has none, the page has none, and the result shows whatever the engine picks instead.

How to fix it

Move the title into the head. A template that writes one into the body is usually the cause.

Skitter runs this check on every crawl, and lists each page it finds with the evidence: the header, the tag or the link that gave it away.
